The Single Most Proud Moment of My Life

Tomorrow morning I am going to start my goodbye passage to 2010 with breakfast with the person who stood by me for the past 14 years and have gone with me through hell and back countless times.

Like the last four Survivors we will hike the trail to the final Tribal Council and along the way pick the Buffs of our 2010 accomplishments.

We will share some war stories and yes some “bad beats” stories, well three to be exact, will have an omelet and some fruit and set our business plans for 2011.

Sometime in 2009 I told people that I wanted to become a Professional Poker Player. Anyone who heard it, except for this particular person, smirked and said I was delusional. So I sat in front of my computer and made a six months plan. I didn’t know anything about Casinos in my area but someone said “Commerce” so I Googled and copied some of their events and told my business partner “this is what I can play in the next six months”. I then said “I can’t promise to make any money but I am giving myself 12 months to cash $5,000”. That was exactly 11 months before the 2010 WSOP Main Event. The rest is documented on Google

At the beginning of 2010 I told my partner that come June I would like to be able to play a side event at the WSOP and that within the next three years I would really like to play the Main Event. Somehow things worked a little differently.

So on the last day of 2010 I set some of my goals for 2011. I am kinda hoping that some people will paint me delusional cuz obviously it worked the last time

And lastly my biggest accomplishment of 2010 has nothing to do with Poker; it has to do with my lifelong dream of becoming a US Citizen. I was scheduled to take the Oath of Citizenship on July 15th 2010, but that day I was otherwise engaged at the Amazon Room at the Rio in Las Vegas. So it got pushed back. But on December 16th 2010 at 2PM PST I stood in front of Judge Fisher at the Los Angeles Convention Center, raised my right hand, and with tears streaming down my face became a proud American Citizen. It was the single most proud and happy moment of my life.

This dream started when I was 8 years old

2010 was a GOOD year and I am thankful to everyone who experienced it with me and very sad to let it end.

I used to think that eBay had the worst customer service on the face of the earth. I now know someone has finally outdone them – Facebook. They simply have NONE.
Last week they disabled my account because someone told them I was “not the real Breeze Zuckerman”. Seriously someone actually took time out of their pathetic life to click on a bunch of prompts and let Facebook know I wasn’t ME.

So I contacted this “social network” and politely clicked on some prompts and was told (huge stretch of the word – cuz there is no one to talk to, just automatic boiler plate emails) that my “concern” will go into a queue and at some point in the future (again huge stretch of the word) they will address my concern. Meanwhile, they asked me, don’t open a new Facebook account to not “confuse the investigation”. Being my polite and cooperative self I complied. Their so called queue is probably a few millions of miles long cuz of course I never heard back from them, there is no phone number to call, email address to write or High Mountain to send smoke signals from.

So as much as I am saddened to lose contact with my Facebook friends at this point I am going to move on. My life is way too busy to fight the windmills of the inflated ego of Mark Zuckerberg and his posse.

So I didn’t get a chance to wish all my Facebook friends Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, I didn’t get to respond to my friends’ comments, didn’t get to read friends’ responses to my comments and pretty much left a bunch of people in the dark because no one knows what happened and I have no way to contact most of them. Gee, thanks so much to the idiot that created this unnecessary drama and to Facebook for being dumb enough to actually believe the idiot that I am not me.

Some say “it comes with the territory”… I don’t remember signing up for a “territory”. All I did was playing a little Poker and make some friends on the way. If this buys me some territory so be it. And if this harassment comes with this so called territory oh well.

So this whole rant is just to let you know why I am not on Facebook right now and to wish all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

First he got it wrong when he picked Joan Rivers over Annie Duke as the Celebrity Apprentice winner; then he got it right when he kept Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA. But no matter what he does The Donald is a solar system of his own and we are all just little planets living in it.
 
Joan Rivers, a witty but obnoxious comedian lied through her false teeth when she turned the Celebrity Apprentice last boardroom into Hurricane Joan, never letting anyone, including Trump finish a sentence and announcing she will “not let Annie Duke’s words be on TV” because NOW Joan Rivers is  not only selling crap on QVS, she is also the commissioner of the FCC. And as  the commissioner  not only can she decide what goes on and what doesn’t but she can also  call someone Hitler on National TV and not get sued for slander and defamation of character. In fact she can malign the Pokah Playeah as much as her little black heart desires and not be held accountable for her actions and words. Sweet Sweet Joanie.
 
Then The Donald got it right when he decided to let Miss California USA keep her title and made the announcement of his decision a national event. But honestly – that’s not Trump’s fault. That one is on us because we keep getting sucked into all these fabricated dramas when one innocent answer snowballs into a federal disaster or when one plastic enhanced senior citizen has a meltdown on primetime. Because that’s what we do as Americans – make sure we care so much about the little things that the bigger picture somehow disappears and we don’t need to deal with recession and finances and wars and unemployment; how could we when we need to attend to Miss California USA and to Adam Lambert and Jilles Marini and oh yes to Joan Rivers and the Pokah Playeah. But it’s OK, because as Carrie Prejean said we live in a country where we can choose.

Jerry Rice was there, Emmitt Smith was there, and so were Jason Taylor, Warren Sapp & Lawrence Taylor.
If OJ was not a double murderer and a felon convicted of robbery, kidnapping and assault, he could have been right there with Edyta Sliwinska practicing the Samba with his Arthritis stricken hips.
And who knows, if he played his cards just right he could even wear a glove.
